Holmes County Pottery

I have always been really drawn to pottery but in the past few years, I have begun collecting dinnerware from East Fork and picking up vases, bowls, and mugs from local antique and resale shops. There is something about the depth and texture that I feel really tells a story.

My sister gave me a beautiful pitcher from Holmes County Pottery (OH) which we have on a side table in our kitchen so when she asked if I wanted to meet her kinda halfway between Columbus and Akron for their Fall Open House, it was an immediate YES!

Cary and Stephanie are both lovely to talk with and spending time with them as well as spending time with each piece is an incredible experience. All of their pieces are hand thrown, hand decorated, and once fired in their wood kiln. Their clay is sourced locally and Ohio and they do three kiln firings a year which is a culmination of months of work.

I love functional art and added to our collection at home with a lamp, bowl, and mug. I got a couple of gifts but obviously cannot ruin them by mentioning them here! It is absolutely worth the drive to go visit Holmes County Pottery.
