The Seasoned Farmhouse
When we first moved to Clintonville (Columbus, OH), I was delighted to find the The Seasoned Farmhouse, a boutique cooking school, in our neighborhood. For my fiftieth birthday, my siblings bought me a generous gift card which has allowed my husband and me to attend two classes over the past year. It is such a wonderful way to spend an evening. The classes fill up quickly so it is important to keep your eye on their website to register quickly if you see a class you are interested in!
The first class we took was Fall Cast-Iron Skillet Favorites with Chef Heather Escobar and everything was delicious. The Seasoned Farmhouse has different kinds of classes - some are hands-on cooking and others are demonstration. This was a demonstration class and we ate a full meal. The recipes were sent home so we can cook at home and there is plenty of time to ask questions and learn throughout the evening!
The second class was called Back from El Salvador and we were really excited to take it because Chef Heather and her family had visited over the summer (and it’s where her husband is from). As a special bonus, her husband came and cooked with her. They shared stories and the entire meal was delicious!
